A deliciously simple bread, these Easy Garlic Knots are made from refrigerated pizza dough with a delicious garlic butter mixture brushed over the top!
A DELICIOUS BREAD SIDE DISH
Anyone else always have to have bread at dinner? I don't care if it is just a slice of bread with a little butter on it. My meal is not complete without some bread! These Easy Garlic Knots go with pretty much anything, so we kind of just find excuses to make them because we love them so much. Using pizza dough for this recipe really cuts down on the time of making your own homemade dough for this. Brushed with a garlic, cheese and butter mixture, there is no lacking in flavor of this recipe!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
This is completely up to you, we like to do it as it looks better. But you can choose to not do it and they will still come out delicious.
Yes, oil will work fine I would just add ¼ teaspoon salt to the mixture so you will get that salt aspect to the flavor.
It may just be your oven. My advice would be to move your oven rack higher and bake them in the top third of the oven. Also, with thinner aluminum baking sheets, they tend to get super hot then transfer that heat to the bottoms of water you're baking.
I find canned pizza dough is much easier to work with when it's not so cold.Just take the tube out of the refrigerator and remove the dough and put on a plate. Let it sit out for about an hour then roll out. This is not absolutely necessary though. You can still make these without doing that step.
These can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature where they will keep for 2-3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. These can also be frozen. Place cooled knots in a freezer container and they will keep for up to 3 months. To defrost, remove to refrigerator overnight and you can reheat in the microwave.

HOW TO MAKE EASY GARLIC KNOTS:
Preheat oven to 400F. Line baking pans with parchment paper (you can use one large baking pan or two smaller ones.) Or you can spray the baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Open the can of pizza dough and roll it out. You want to form it into a large rectangle.
Cut the rectangle in half so that you have 2 equal squares of dough. I find it easiest to cut the doing using a pizza cutter.
Cut each square into 4 strips.
Then cut these strips in half. You should now have 16 (fairly) equal pieces of dough.
Roll each strip into an 8 inch rope.
Tie the rope into a knot (you can choose whether to tuck the ends under or not).
Place each knot on the pan lined with parchment paper.
Melt butter and stir in seasonings: garlic powder, oregano, and parsley. (Save the Parmesan for later.)
Brush on the butter mixture and save some for later.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden. Add 2 Tablespoons Parmesan cheese to the leftover butter mixture.
Allow the knots to cool slightly, then brush this mixture over the knots. Sprinkle them with extra cheese if you’d like!
Serve with marinara dipping sauce on the side if desired.
