If you like Chinese food, you absolutely have to make this recipe. It is phenomenal! I got the recipe from Half Baked Harvest.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into bite size pieces. I used chicken breast tenderloins
4 Tablespoons of Soy Sauce
1/4 Cup of all purpose flour
1 inch of ginger
2 garlic cloves, grated (I used minced)
Juice of 1/2 orange
2 Tablespoons of hoisin sauce
2 Tablespoons of rice vinegar
1-2 Tablespoons of crushed red pepper flakes
1 Tablespoon of toasted sesame oil
2 Tablespoons of olive oil
2 green onions chopped
White Rice
2 Tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds
Step 1 Gather all your ingredients.
Step 2 Cup up the chicken and place into a large mixing bowl.
Step 3 Start the rice, this will take about 15-20 minutes. The alternative is to make microwave rice.
Step 4 Add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1/4 cup of flour into the bowl with the chicken and stir
Step 5 Heat up 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Get the oil hot before adding in the chicken. Once you place the chicken in it should sizzle. Continue to brown the chicken for about 5-6 minutes. Consistently stirring so all parts get cooked.
Step 6 While the chicken is cooking, start making the sauce. In a separate mixing bowl combine the hoisin sauce, additional soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, crushed red pepper flakes, toasted sesame oil, orange juice, and garlic. Whisk it all together.
Step 7 After the chicken has been cooking for about 5-6 insteps add the sauce into the pan. Stir it all around and bring the sauce to a bowl. From there, bring the heat down and simmer for about 10 minutes.
Step 8 Remove from the heat, top with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve over rice!
